Welcome To Temple Beth El!

First Year Membership Initiative

Discover the Warmth of a TBE Membership: First Year Initiative

Temple Beth El membership has countless benefits but dues are often the largest barrier to joining. To combat this, all first-time new members can set their own dues for the first year.

We will encourage those who can afford to pay full dues to consider doing so, just as we encourage potential members to take advantage of all the priceless opportunities. However, we refuse to let first year dues be an obstacle.

We have come to realize that our dues may stand in the way of “discovering the warmth” of a Temple Beth El membership. We also understand that many people do not want to discuss financials at the outset of their membership.   With this program, we’re effectively removing these hurdles.

Please note that all religious school or educational fees are exempt from this program.

We are confident that the more involved our new members feel in their first year, the more they will feel the warmth of Beth El and realize that they have chosen the right home for themselves.

Standard dues begin during year two.  Members who wish to be considered for reduced dues will be asked to submit their financials for review by the subcommittee that discreetly and confidentially handles all such member requests.  Additionally at this time, the member will begin his or her commitment to the building fund.

As part of this initiative, in conjunction with our strategic plan, we are working towards effective communication of events and opportunities to new and existing members.

We are proud to have a warm and welcoming community and excited to offer a membership program that demonstrates this.  If you know someone who might be interested in joining Temple Beth El, please let them know about this opportunity for new, first-time members.  Encourage them to contact the Temple office at (585) 473-1770 or just pass their name on and the Membership Committee will gladly make the initial call.
