As the year changes to 5779 and we change from summer to fall, we are seeing some incredible changes around our Early Childhood Department and Keshet Preschool!  Camp Keshet had record-breaking numbers, with over 45 families enrolled, and we had some new and unique themes. We even had the Zoo-mobile come for a visit during our zoo week!  For the first time, we offered enrichment classes to supplement the children’s day. We averaged about ten to twelve children each week for these classes.

As we enter the school year, I am excited for all of our changes.  We now have two classes of children who are two or turning two, which brings in several new families.  We also are starting our first ever fall Pitzels class! Registration is now up for it, and it will officially begin on Thursday, October 4.  There are also some new enrichment class offerings including Soccer Shots. On Tuesdays, children can stay active with either Butterfly Kids Yoga or Soccer Shots, both of which were a huge hit over the summer.  Keshet Preschool has very limited spots open for all ages, so please feel free to contact me for a tour or to register.

Another new addition to our program is a baby play group.  Once a month, families of children ages 0-18 months are meeting in Keshet and socializing their babies.  We have songs, play time, stories, and a snack. This is a great opportunity for parents and babies to meet each other, socialize, and just get to know each other.

We have several events and programs coming up for the High Holidays. Mike Miller will be leading our services on both days of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, and we will offer babysitting for the entire duration of the services in the main sanctuary. During Sukkot, there will be activities on both days that will engage your child and help gain an understanding of the holiday. On September 23, there will be an activity during Limmud for young children, where we build the Keshet sukkah. We will have a special section for young children during Simchat Torah evening, and then the morning of, we will have an activity to explore creation.
