Welcome To Temple Beth El!

March/April 2018

February marked a year since I began my position at Temple Beth El, and I cannot say enough times over how exciting of a ride this has been!  I have loved helping Keshet grow and expand and creating programs for our youngest members.

Keshet has been busy welcoming new faces and busy with special guests and programs.  We had two new families join our Gan Katan class (3 year olds), and ten new students join our Pitzels class (18-24 months).  We also welcomed Biffy Borg from Jewish Federation’s PJ Library, and had a whole school pajama day to go along with it.  The excitement on the children’s faces as they walked in to school in their pajamas was contagious!

Our Tu B’Shevat and PJ Havdalah were extremely successful.  Children who attended PJ Havdalah created items such as besamim bags, pillowcases, havdalah candles, and mezuzot to go along with Jewish bedtime rituals.  It was a fun and meaningful event.

The next few months will not be short of fun and learning.  Tot Shabbat will be on March 10 and April 21.  Our March 10 service will focus on the meaning of tradition, as Passover is just a few weeks away.  April 21 will celebrate Israel’s birthday!

Keshet students are looking forward to their model seder the week of the 26th and several special guests.  We also have round two of conferences coming, so families can meet with their child’s morah to see all of the growth!  Gan Gadol will be on March 12 and 13, Gan Katantan on March 14, and Gan Katan on March 15.

Camp and school registration is up!  There will be discounts for those who register early!  Themes for camp this year will include “We’re Going Camping”, “Messy Art”, and the ever-so-popular “Let’s Get Cooking!”, plus so much more!  We will also have a few new surprises in store that will truly enhance your child’s summer camp experience.  Your preschooler will have the best summer ever!

For school, we are looking at adding a five-day option (and a second classroom) for our two year olds!  For more information, please contact me at mwarner@tberochester.org.  You can even request a tour right from the Keshet section of our website!

Please do not hesitate to contact me for any information on our preschool, camp, or any of our early childhood programs!

B’Shalom,

Mandi Warner
