Welcome To Temple Beth El!

September/October 2018

L’shana tova v’metuka to you and your families.  I am anticipating with great excitement the start of the 2018-2019 Limmud School Year and am pleased to announce this year’s Limmud theme is Israel, in honor of Israel’s 70th birthday.

It is no coincidence that the new school year will officially begin on Erev Rosh Hashanah, a time of reflection, celebration and new beginnings.  To start off this year, our students will be participating in a joint program with Temple B’rith Kodesh’s Religious School for a special High Holiday event at Brighton Town Lodge on September 9th from 10:30 am – noon.

I look forward to seeing many familiar and new faces as we welcome back our returning students and staff, as well as new ones who are joining the Limmud family this fall.  The first opportunity to welcome students to the halls of Limmud will be for our engaging and meaningful High Holiday Youth Programming, during both days of Rosh Hashanah and on Yom Kippur.  I invite you to join your children during Youth Services. Information about dates, times and programming can be found in the High Holiday Book, which you should have received in the mail.

Save the date of Sunday, September 16th (Limmud’s first day at TBE) for a Parent Meeting, during which we will discuss the 2018-2019 Limmud goals, curriculum, and opportunities for parent engagement.  This is a great opportunity to learn about what is new and how you can get involved! Afterwards, bring your children to our Back to School Barbecue to see friends, reconnect with returning Limmud staff, and meet new faculty.

Lastly, mark your calendars for Monday, October 15th, 7:00 pm for Limmud’s Open House.  This is an evening to learn about your child(ren’s) specific curriculum and schedule, get to know their madrichim (teachers) and their classmates’ parents.  Looking forward to seeing you as Limmud launches a year of ruach and learning (as our name suggests)!

B’Shalom,

Jody Dietz
