Welcome To Temple Beth El!

Congregational Safety

You’ve likely heard or read accounts of recent anti-Semitic incidents and threats at local synagogues. We want to emphatically assure you that security is a priority at Temple Beth El, not just over the High Holy Days, but every day.

A brief look at just some of the measures we are taking:

  • We regularly employ security guards at our entrances whenever there are gatherings.
  • Our congregants that serve as ushers inside the building receive in depth, in-person security training.
  • We have a strong relationship with the Rochester Police Department, which sends a patrol car to our lot during High Holy Day services.
  • And we work year-round with RocStrong, an initiative of the Jewish Community Federation of Greater Rochester, that keeps us apprised of any potential risks and helps ensure our building has the necessary structures and technology to keep us all safe.

In other words, securing our congregation is serious business that we take seriously. We look forward to having you join us in our building throughout the holidays and the year ahead, knowing that we can gather in pride, in love, and in safety.
