Welcome To Temple Beth El!

May/June 2018

Every congregation, regardless of which movement they belong to, has certain traditions when it comes to prayer ritual. Our ritual committee has created a policy in regards to our ritual during services in concert with the Rabbi and Hazzan. At Temple Beth El, the standard practice for those going onto the bimah or being called to the Torah is to wear a tallit and kippah. We are an egalitarian community and therefore this applies to men and women.

However, we are also a welcoming inclusive community. Thus if our guests or members attending services have their own preferred ritual practices when attending services, we accept them with open arms. We offer tallit and kippot to all are called to the bimah and torah but respect personal preferences.

We want all our members and guests to feel comfortable in our shul and to feel they are part of our community.
