We are excited to begin the process of finding a new Senior Rabbi following Rabbi Bitran’s retirement in July of 2026.
The Rabbi Search Committee, headed by Carolyn Nussbaum, consists of the following members: Abe Glazer, Evan Spindelman, Gail Finkelstein, Lina Spokony, Marc Brugg, Sara Ressler, Sarah Nunes, Todd Stein, Aviva Schochat, Ron Yaar, and Debbie Zeger. This group is composed of leaders and lay leaders in our congregation and greater community, and holds the Temple’s best interests at heart.
There is a congregational meeting on Sunday, April 6, at 4pm to vote on whether to approve the recommendation of the board to hire Rabbi Ben Goldstein as our Senior Rabbi. Only members of the synagogue that attend in person are able to vote, and we ask that you register ahead of time so we can confirm membership in advance.

A native of Rochester, Rabbi Ben Goldstein has been working in the Jewish community for over twenty years. He served as the Interim Rabbi for both Pasadena Jewish Temple & Center and Congregation B’nai Israel in Tustin, CA. Before that he was the Senior Rabbi of Beit T’Shuvah, a Jewish recovery center in Los Angeles. He has also worked as a rabbi at Temple Aliyah in Los Angeles, and as the spiritual leader of Temple Beth El Mekor Chayim, in Cranford, New Jersey. Rabbi Goldstein enjoys sports, meditation, theater, and golf. He lives in Woodland Hills.
