Welcome To Temple Beth El!
The annual meeting was held on June 11, 2024, with approximately 120 people in attendance. Rabbi Bitran gave the D’var Torah on the importance of heart strength– ometz lev. Now, more than ever, we must stand together and rely on the community of the shul. Not only is ometz lev a core tenant in Mussar, it is a resounding cry throughout the High Holy Days.
The minutes of last year’s annual meeting were approved.
Past Treasurer Evan Spindelman gave the budget report. The budget for the 2024-2025 fiscal year was approved. It was noted that the board is very grateful for the TBE Foundation, a separate group that supports youth education at Temple Beth El.

The slate of officers and incoming board members was presented, as a product of the nominating committee. It was unanimously approved and all board members and officers are now installed. Thank you to outgoing board members Irwin Goldberg, Nancy Krieger, Jason Reynolds, and Adam Saks.

Roberta Feldman, board member, gave a recap of the Strategic Plan. We have made great progress. The main goal now is to reinvigorate the 8 standing committees outlined in our bylaws. The strategic planning commissioners are writing a strategic planning initiative plan, a living document for the board to use in the future.
Outgoing President Matt Ryen gave a brief presentation of his time in office, noting that the TBE space is now housing multiple other Jewish organizations and that are continuing to become a center of Conservative Judaism in the Rochester area. Thank you to the Farash Foundation, to the Temple Beth El Foundation, and to Evan Spindelman, incoming president.
President Evan Spidelman took over for a few comments, mentioning that he is very thankful to Matt Ryen for leading by example and that he is very excited for the future at Temple Beth El.
