EXCITING NEXT STEP FOR KESHET
Temple Beth El has begun the process to license Keshet, our highly popular preschool program, through the NYS Office of Children & Family Services (OCFS).

We made the decision to seek state licensing after much discussion, largely because we feel strongly that this accreditation offers wonderful opportunities to strengthen our program and support our staff. It will also help TBE continue to provide our students with the very best preschool experience in a warm and positive small school environment, focused on Jewish values.

Having a state license offers many benefits, including state financial support for upgrading facilities, access to no-cost professional development and scholarships and tuition assistance for families. It would also allow us to consider expanding Keshet’s hours of operation, which many parents have asked for.

We’ve already been in touch with the state and since we already follow state guidelines for early childhood programs, we fully expect our application to be approved. With all the paperwork involved, it likely will take about three to six months to complete the process and obtain the license.
