Shabbat Programs

We believe that students learn best when they have a chance to put into practice what they have learned in the classroom. We therefore actively encourage our students to participate in synagogue services on Shabbat, and the Religious School organizes the following special Shabbat children's programs.

Junior Congregation

Junior Congregation, for students in grades 2 -- 6, meets every Shabbat while Religious School is in session. Services take place from 10:15 to 11:45 in the synagogue Chapel. Services are led by Mrs. Zipporah Kleinberg. For dates, see the Calendar.

Shabbat Chaverim

Shabbat Chaverim, for students in kindergarten and first grade, meets every third Shabbat. Services meet at 10:45 in the synagogue Library. Services are led by participating parents. For dates, see the Calendar.

Tot Shabbat

Tot Shabbat, for pre-school children and their familes, meets every third Shabbat. Services meet at 10:45 in the Youth Lounge. Services are led by participating parents. For dates, see the Calendar.

Children are also always welcome in the main sanctuary!

The school requires student attendance at a minimum of 10 Shabbat or holiday services per year. These may be services on Shabbat morning, Friday night, or on the holidays of Sukkot, Pesach, and Shavuot, and may be at any synagogue.
